After a couple of nail-biters, the Diamonds claimed a commanding, quick fire victory over Sunrisers at Fenner’s in Cambridge, bowling the hosts out for just 53.
The 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy finalists were starting to roll, with two wins in three games to start the summer.
Katherine Brunt and Jenny Gunn claimed three wickets apiece as the Sunrisers were skittled inside just 30 overs in this early June clash, with only two home batters making it into double figures having been inserted.
While Gunn finished with 3-10 from six overs of medium pace, England gun Brunt was outstanding with 3-11 from eight with the new ball in her final domestic appearance of the summer prior to international commitments.
Beth Langston also struck twice with the new ball, added to a wicket apiece from spinners Linsey Smith and Katie Levick.
In reply, the Diamonds top order did not need to get out of second gear, securing a nine-wicket win in 7.4 overs.
Captain Hollie Armitage top-scored with an unbeaten 14, while her side benefitted from 24 extras, including 18 wides.
